Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, joined a group deliberation of deputies from Nantong city to the annual session of the Provincial People's Congress in Nanjing, capital of east China’s Jiangsu province on the afternoon of January 28.
The deputies put forth suggestions on promoting the transformation and upgrading of industries and urban transportation, deepening the pilot reform, speeding up the development of big data service industry, promoting the integration of the digitalization and industrialization and the strategy of rural rejuvenation.
Lou said that economic growth in Nantong has continuously surpassed the provincial average and entered a promising strategic period. Based on the new orientation of the new era, the provincial party committee clearly proposed that the city should take the forefront of high-quality development across the country.
Lou Qinjian pointed out that from a strategic point of view Nantong receives a major boost from major strategic opportunities such as the "Belt and Road", the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the development of the coastal areas in Jiangsu, so the city should seize major opportunities for development and follow the construction of the "Belt and Road" for the enhancement of the competitive edge.
Nantong sits on the Yangtze River and the East China Sea and is close to southern Jiangsu and Shanghai, so it is important for the city to find its own advantages and disadvantages and solve the basic and key issues by tapping the geographical location advantages and further enhancing the ability of the gathering of resources, the CPC provincial chief said.
Lou hoped that Nantong should strive to achieve high-quality development in the forefront of the province, promote industrial development to a high level, seize the opportunities brought about by the computer and Internet technologies and their effect on the changes of production and lifestyle so as to accelerate the upgrading of emerging industries and the improvement of the core competitiveness for more active integration into the world trade system.
