In the work report of the provincial government, the concept of "high-quality ecological environment" is actually combined with the actual situation in the province and refined into a multi-faceted, more concrete and practical plan for deployment and a clear "green road map".
Jiangsu is an economic powerhouse with heavy reliance on energy consumption and heavy industries, thereby the pollution discharge is still high, said Zhu Tiejun, a deputy to the provincial people's congress and director of the provincial Taihu Lake Management Office, adding that a new round of Taihu Lake cleanup and dredging must be carried out to address both the symptoms and root cause.
While stressing ecological management and restoration, the provincial government work report also proposed to vigorously promote green, recycling and low-carbon development.
