Jiangsu's first 24-hour self-service area for entry and exit was officially launched in Nanjing on April 8th. Common problems that people often encounter during break time, like urgent application for additional information or urgent need for passport, will be effectively solved with the self-services.
Many citizens came to the Nanjing Public Security Bureau Exit and Entry Service Center to experience the entry and exit self-services at noon time yesterday.
Ms. Zuo came to take the passport of her child. Under the voice instructions of the self-service machine, she got her child’s passport within 10 seconds. Some citizens said that they might have to go to work during the day and only have time at night. With the 24-hour self-service counters, it's very convenient in just a few minutes without the trouble of standing in long lines.
Now, there are 6 self-service machines for endorsement and 8 self-service machines for getting passports. They provide 24-hour endorsement and passport services for visitors to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. It only takes 3 minutes to go through the whole process for endorsement and 30 seconds to get passports.
Wu Xin, deputy chief of the Exit and Entry Control Division of Nanjing Public Security Bureau, said that ID card and receipt are required when getting passports, while card-type certificates are required for endorsement. Meanwhile, services for some staff of government and active military personnel are unable to use the self-services.
