According to the " Jiangsu Province Qingming Tourism Situation Big Data Analysis Report " released Sunday, Suzhou, Nanjing and Wuxi were the top three cities in Jiangsu receiving the largest number of visitors during the Qingming Festival.
Data shows that around this three-day holiday, Jiangsu experienced a six-day peak flow of visitors. Mainly from Shanghai, Anhui and Henan, visitors from Shanghai and Anhui accounted for more than 50% of the total number of the visitors. Shanghai, Beijing and Suzhou in Anhui Province were the top three cities that witnessed the passenger flow to Jiangsu. Spending one day or so sightseeing, visitors from outside Jiangsu Province spent slightly longer time than those from inside the province.
The top five destination spots in Jiangsu are the Confucius Temple in Nanjing, Shanghu Lake in Suzhou, the Turtle Head Park in Wuxi, Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum in Nanjing and Qinhu Tourist Area in Taizhou. Among all the five destinations, the Confucius Temple in Nanjing saw a total number of visitors of 400,000 within a three-day period. Xishan in Suzhou witnessed the longest span of visiting time of more than five hours on average. Changzhou Joyland of Universal Animation Valley, Changzhou Tianmu Lake Scenic Area and Suzhou Wuzhong Taihu Lake Scenic Area experienced an average four-hour stay of visitors.
Nanjing Confucius Temple, Yangzhou Slender West Lake and Suzhou Humble Administrator’s Garden won the highest acclaim from visitors who’ve had their first journey in Jiangsu. Among all the types of scenic spots, the historical and cultural scenic spots received the largest number of visitors, accounting for more than half of the total visitors. The natural landscape, red tourism and theme parks were also popular with visitors, the trend of integration of local culture and tourism was more and more popular.
