Entrusted by the CPC Central Committee, a research team headed by Chen Xiaoguang, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic League, carried out a special investigation in Jiangsu from Monday to Wednesday on deepening the integration and cooperation of the Yangtze River Delta and promoting the coordinated development of the regional economy.
The research team conducted investigation in Suzhou, Nantong, Nanjing and Changzhou.
At a briefing held in Nanjing on Wednesday, Chen Xiaoguang said that the Yangtze River Delta region has an important strategic position and prominent role in the overall development of the country.
The CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and the provincial government have gained good experiences and good practices in promoting the integration and cooperation concerning the development of the Yangtze River Delta, he said.
At present, the integration of the Yangtze River Delta is facing a “bottleneck restriction.” The Central Committee of the Democratic League proposed suggestions to be submitted to the CPC Central Committee and the State Council in breaking through regional administrative barriers, establishing long-term cooperation and development mechanisms, strengthening policy coordination, and facilitating factor flow for the promotion of the development of cooperation in the Yangtze River Delta.
At the symposium held in Nanjing Wednesday morning, Huang Lixin, chairwoman of the provincial committee of CPPCC, briefed the research group on Jiangsu's economic and social development and the work of the Jiangsu Provincial Political Consultative Conference.
She said that the research team of the Democratic League Central Committee has carried out special investigations in Jiangsu, which is highly targeted and meaningful.
Huang remarked that the provincial CPPCC will earnestly implement the “Development Plan for the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration” passed by the State Council and give full play to the province’s advantages by offering suggestions and advice under the leadership of the provincial party committee so as to contribute to the innovation breakthroughs in the development of the Yangtze River Delta and better serve the overall development of the country.
