Zhang Xinyan from Jiangsu’s Yanzhong city won the gold medal for women’s individual recurve at the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta on Aug 28.

Zhang has become the first Chinese archer to win a gold medal in this category since archery’s introduction to the Asian Games in 1978.
