Wu Zhenglong, Governor of Jiangsu province, visited Belorussia from Thursday to Friday. He met with Sergei Rumas, the Prime Minister of Belarus, Vladimir Domanevsky, Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, He attended the "Belt and Road" Jiangsu-Belarus Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum and delivered a keynote speech, visited the Chinese Embassy in Belarus, inspected the China-Belarus Industrial Park and some Chinese enterprises, and witnessed the signing of cooperation projects.
Rumas extended his warm welcome to Wu Zhenglong and his delegation. He said that Jiangsu is a developed province in China and hopes to take advantage of the opportunities brought about by the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" to promote mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides to achieve more fruitful results and inject new kinetic energy into the development of Belarus-China relations.
Wu Zhenglong congratulated Rumas on his being appointed as Prime Minister of Belarus and conveyed the greetings from the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. He said that the friendship between China and Belarus has a long history, adding that both sides have maintained frequent high-level exchanges and advanced bilateral relations to a new level, thanks to the promotion by President Xi Jinping and President Lukashenko.
Mogilev is the hometown of President Lukashenko, and Jiangsu and Mogilev twinned sister relationship witnessed by the two heads of state. In accordance with the important consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries, Jiangsu will strengthen the exchanges and cooperation with Mogilev in various fields under the framework of the "Belt and Road" and strive to become a demonstrator of regional cooperation and win-win situation between the two countries and continue to expand the new space for cooperation between Jiangsu and Belarus to better benefit the people of the two sides.
On Thursday afternoon, the Belt and Road Jiangsu-Belarus Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum was held in Mogilev City. More than 200 Chinese and Belarusian business people attended the event.
Cui Qiming, Chinese Ambassador to Belarus, said that he Jiangsu will give full play to its open economy and actively promote mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation with Belarus.
Domanevski said that Belarus and China are mutually tolerant and trusting each other, which has laid the foundation for regional exchanges and cooperation, adding that Belarus is willing to continue to deepen its all-round and multi-field cooperation with Jiangsu.
Wu Zhenglong met with Domanevsky and visited the exhibition of quality products. During the meeting, he said that we met in Nanjing last September and agreed on a series of measures to deepen cooperation between the two provinces. The Governor also visited a local milk company and Mogilev Meat Factory to understand the progress of industrial cooperation between the two sides.
During his visit to the China-Belarus Industrial Park, Wu Zhenglong said that Jiangsu will encourage more of its enterprises to invest in the park, and to build the China-Belarus Industrial Park into the pearl of the Silk Road Economic Belt and a model of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides so as to contribute Jiangsu's strength to the Sino-Belarus relations.
