Movie-goers in Jiangsu province will be entertained with 15 super blockbusters during the upcoming National Day holiday. Let’s take a close look.
On the top of the list is Hello Mrs. Money, directed by Wu Yuhan and starring Song Yang, Ai Lun, and Huang Cailun.
Adapted from the name-sake drama, Hello, Mrs. Money tells the story of Li Cha, a poor guy, and his billionaire auntie. To win the heart of his beloved girl who likes money, Li Cha asks his billionaire aunt to help. Never met with his aunt before, Li Cha recognizes a male employee, Huang Canghai, as his aunt by mistake. For their own benefits, Li Cha, Huang Canghai and Liang Jierui decide to pretend Li Cha's aunt together, yet the 'real aunt' shows up, bringing audience tons of hilarious moments.
The movie is scheduled for release on October 4.
Shadow, an upcoming Chinese historical film directed by Zhang Yimou, is expected to be another thriller when it premiers on September 30. Previously, it was screened at the 75th Venice International Film Festival and the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival.
Shadow is Zhang Yimou’s first wuxia-centered film in over a decade, and it’s his boldest work yet. Starring Deng Chao, Sun Li, Hu Jun, Wang Jingchun, Guan Xiaotong, and Leo Wu, the film is set during the Three Kingdoms period of Ancient China, and centers on the story of an exiled king and his body double. His body double, also known as his “shadow”, is a much younger and stronger version of the king, and in the onset of war, the body double must hold his ground and fight for his land.
Shadow will be released in China on September 30, 2018.
Movie-goers might also be interested in Project Gutenberg, an upcoming Hong Kong action film written and directed by Felix Chong and starring Chow Yun-fat and Aaron Kwok.
Project Gutenberg is set for release on October 4.
