The extended version of the Fuxing bullet train made its debut in Nanjing on January 6 when the G9 train from Beijing arrived at the Nanjing South Railway Station at 3:30 pm.
The 17-carriage Fuxing train measures 439.9 meters long, boasts a seating capacity for 1,283 passengers, 90 more seats than the 16-carriage Fuxing train launched on July 1 last year, or 7.5 percent of increase.
Under the new national railway schedule effective on January 6, the 17-carriage train will serve on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, at a maximum speed of 350 km/h.
Nanjing will launch high speed trains to a multitude of destinations, including Huangshan in Anhui Province, Qiandao Lake in Zhejiang Province and Sanming in Fujian Province. Fuxing trains will also be used on normal speed railway and provide passengers with better travelling experience.
