Governor Wu Zhenglong presided over the provincial government executive meetingFriday afternoon to deliberate and approve the primary tasks for governmental departments in the government work report for 2019 that was delivered to the annual legislative session last week.
The "Government Work Report" reviewed and approved at the Second Session of the 13th Provincial People's Congress stressed the adherenceto the guidance of Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the implementation of the decision-making arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council and the requirements of the provincial party committee, according to a statement released after the meeting.
The target tasks are the solemn commitments made by the government to the people, and must be fulfilled with practical actions and actual results so as to ensure that the province’s high-quality development ranks foremost in the country and the construction of new Jiangsu is accelerated to salute the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China with outstanding achievements, the statement said.
Government departments must work together to implement and take the initiative to stabilize the growth, promote the reform, adjust the structure, ensure the sustained and healthy development of the economy, and strive to achieve a good start in the first quarter so as to lay a solid foundation for the completion of the annual target, according to the statement.
The spirit of the National Conference on Letters and Petitions were conveyed at the meeting so as to emphasize the importance of studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on strengthening and improving people's petitions, as well as the implementation of the seminar on the prevention of major risks at the meeting of provincial and ministerial-level leaders, the statement said.
The meeting called on the practice of the people-centered development thinking by adapting to the changes in the main contradictions of the society in the new era, implementing the spirit of the National Conference on Letters and Petitions，strengthening the prevention of risks at the source, and focusing on problemsolving, the statement said.
It is also urged that the province should implement safety and stability measures, promote the modernization of social governance, and enhance the ability and level of maintaining social stability so as to increase the sense of gain, happiness and security for the people.
