Regional governments in Jiangsu province are endeavoring for higher goals and greater achievements in 2019, according to the annual sessions of the local people’s congress that are going on in various parts of the province.
In 2018, Taizhou registered 500 billion yuan of GDP, an increase of 6.7% year on year.
In the new year, Taizhou will continue to make efforts to build a high-quality central fulcrum city for Jiangsu’s high quality development by focusing on the optimization of the business climate, tackling key projects, strengthening scientific and technological support, deepening key reforms, improving urban functions, and adhering to the ecological bottom line.
It will also make efforts to support the private economy for greater development, launch more investment projects to enhance the three-year action plan, accelerate the integration of the innovation chain and the industrial chain, enhance the industrial technology density and technology content, and inject strong momentum into the growth of new kinetic energy.
In 2019, Taizhou is expected to increase its GDP by about 7%, fixed-asset investment by 6%, and the total retail sales of social consumer goods by about 7%. The income growth of urban and rural residents will keep abreast with economic development.
