East China’s Jiangsu province held a provincial conference on rural work Tuesday in Nanjing. The instructions of the CPC Provincial secretary and the governor were conveyed at the meeting. Yang Yue, member of the standing committee of the CPC Provincial Committee and head of the untied work front department, delivered a speech at the meeting.
In his written instructions, Lou Qinjian, the CPC Provincial secretary, pointed out that the work of agriculture, rural affairs and farmers is the top priority of the province's work, and also a weak link for building a comprehensively well-off society. The future work should be guided by Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics by grasping the periodic characteristics of Jiangsu's development and the inherent law of rural reform and development, stress the four syncs, deepen the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, and focus on poverty alleviation and the improvement of rural housing conditions to explore modern agricultural construction, so that farmers continue to feel the joy of harvest, and achieve a high level of comprehensive well-off.
In his written instructions, Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, pointed out that the issue of agriculture, rural affairs and farmers is a fundamental issue concerning the national economy and the people's livelihood.
He demanded that the province should implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on the work of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers" and important instructions for the work of Jiangsu, adhere to the priority development of agriculture and rural areas, implement the rural revitalization strategy as the overall starting point for the work of agriculture, rural areas and farmers in the new era for the continuous promotion of the comprehensive upgrading of agriculture, rural progress, and all-round development of the farmers.
He also requested that more efforts should be made to adhere to the quality of agriculture, green agriculture, and promote modern agriculture construction to a new level, consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation, improve the quality of poverty alleviation, and win the battle against poverty alleviation, carry out in-depth promotion of the three-year action plan to rectify rural settlements, speed up the improvement of housing conditions for farmers in northern Jiangsu, and strive to create beautiful and livable villages.
When delivering his speech, Yang Yue pointed out that it is necessary to focus on the goal orientation and persist in promoting the high-quality development of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers", adhere to the general guidelines for priority development of agriculture and rural areas, implement the strategy of rural revitalization as the general focus, promote the in-depth implementation of ten key projects, highlight the key issues of poverty alleviation, improve housing conditions for farmers in northern Jiangsu, and rectification of rural settlements, focus on the implementation of hard tasks and follow the high-quality development so as to ensure the rural reform and development goals and tasks are completed by 2020.
Vice Governor Fei Gaoyun presided over the meeting and put forward requirements for implementing the spirit of the meeting.
