The standing members of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee held a democratic life meeting Wednesday in accordance with General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and the implementation of CPC Central Committee’s decision-making to review their practice of the eight-point frugality code and conduct criticism and self-criticism.
The meeting was presided over by Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.
Officials from the Organization Department, the Supervisory Team and the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC Central Committee were present at the meeting.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee attaches great importance to the opening of this democratic life. Before the meeting, the standing members thoroughly studied Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and made in-depth comprehension of the gist of the speeches made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the Central Political Bureau's Democratic Life Meeting, the meeting of provincial and ministerial level leading officials and the meeting of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
The standing committee also solicited opinions on the annual leadership meeting of criticism and self-criticism.
The standing members were briefed on the feedback requirements of the disciplinary inspection team of the CPC central committee and the provincial party committee’s deployment for rectification as well as the practice of the eight-point frugality code since the 19th National Congress of the CPC.
Lou emphasized that it is important to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, guide practice with the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, and take a series of measures to implement the important instructions made by the General Secretary on the work in Jiangsu in a down-to-earth manner.
He demanded that the standing members of the CPC Provincial Committee should uphold the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguard the authority of the CPC Central Committee and unite around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core.
Holding a special democratic life meeting of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee is an important measure for the Provincial Party Committee to implement the task of rectifying disciplinary inspection in accordance with the requirements of the CPC Central Committee, according to a statement released after the meeting.
The standing members studied the Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China by centering on the series of important instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on disciplinary inspection.
The members of the Standing Committee spoke one after another, focusing on the problems identified by the feedback of the disciplinary inspection, finding the gap in politics, conducting in-depth cross-checking, and doing the right to face the problem without dodging so as to get at the root.
Everyone insisted on taking strictness as the important criterion, taking the problem as a clear guide, taking responsibility as the due diligence, and experienced a strict intra-party political life exercise, reflecting the responsibility of the party’s loyalty and realism and the action of conscious change.
When concluding his speech, Lou Qinjian pointed out that promoting the rectification on the feedback from the central disciplinary inspection team is a major political task for the whole province in the current period, adding that it is a test of the strong sense of "four consciousnesses" for party organizations and leading cadres at all levels.
