The latest robot vacuum cleaner is “smarter and stronger” than predecessors, with an improved artificial intelligence platform with 3-D sensors. Let’s take a close look.
On Shishan Road of Suzhou New and High-tech Zone, a cleaner was seen working under the guidance of the cleaning staff to complete the cleaning work.
This smart cleaner is equipped with a "humanoid recognition system" that automatically tracks cleaning workers for road cleaning. The machine has a battery life of 8 hours and can store up to 240 liters of garbage at a time. All the cleaning staff needs to do is to operate the "tent" of the machine, and the robot will handle all the remaining work.
Through a front-facing camera and sensors, the AI-equipped robot road cleaner can recognize and avoid objects on the road to better adapt to a user’s environment while still providing a high-quality cleaning solution.
The sensors help the cleaners learn about details of an outdoor space, including locations of obstacles to stop by or bypass within a wide angle view of 160 degrees.
By adopting a smart AI turbo, the new cleaner models can sense dusty areas, such as carpets and corners, where they need to increase suction power and adjust the brush and speed.
Suzhou has put into use two AI-equipped road cleaning machines with more to be in service soon.
