Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, met Wednesday in Nanjing with Sukanto Tanoto, founder and chairman of Singapore’s Royal Golden Eagle Group.
Lou Qinjian expressed his gratitude to the Golden Eagle Group for its long-term contribution to the economic and social development of Jiangsu and his appreciation to Sukanto Tanoto for his patriotic feelings as an overseas Chinese leader and his dedication to charity.
Lou noted that Jiangsu is promoting high-quality development, implementing new development concepts, promoting structural adjustment and industrial upgrading, protecting ecological environment, promoting coordinated regional development, and accelerating the construction of a new Jiangsu.
The CPC Provincial chief hoped that the Golden Eagle Group will seize the opportunity to increase its investment in northern Jiangsu and the coastal areas and expand cooperation in the fields of clean energy, port development and industrial chain building so as to achieve shared development at a higher level.
Jiangsu will exert its utmost efforts to create an excellent environment for the better development of cooperation projects, he said.
Sukanto Tanoto recalled the history of the Golden Eagle’s investment development in Jiangsu, and thanked Jiangsu Province for its continued support for the development of the Golden Eagle Group.
He said that Jiangsu has a good industrial base and rich resources for science and education, especially its all-pronged business environment.
The Golden Eagle Group will seize the major opportunities such as the construction of the “Belt and Road” and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, increase the investment development in Jiangsu, actively participate in public welfare undertakings such as poverty alleviation and make greater contributions to the high quality development of Jiangsu.
