The city of Yangzhou is gearing up for the Inaugural Grand Canal Cultural Tourism Expo that will take place from May 3 to 6.
Construction has been completed on the light show and the main stage of the opera stage and the background wall in the "C" shaped bay of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal. The steel structure opera stage can accommodate 1800 spectators. In the middle of the water bay is a group of musical fountains with an area of 2,700 square meters. The large steel structure wall on the east bank is one of the important parts of the light show.
At present, the music fountain is being commissioned and the main lighting of the stage will be installed. When the expo kicks off, the Canal Light Show and the original opera will become an eye-opener.
As an important project of the Expo, the caravanning team arrived in Changzhou on Monday morning. The riders boarded the ship to visit the industrial remains and the celebrities' former residences, which together formed a vivid historical picture.
The first Grand Canal Cultural Tourism Expo will be themed on "integration, innovation and sharing" with a view to building three platforms for the integration of cultural travel between cities and towns along the Grand Canal, the promotion of cultural travel and the sharing of good life so as to further build an important integrated cultural and travel platform with growing influence at home and abroad.
