Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, stressed ecology and "green development" in boosting the growth of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. He made the remarks at a symposium held Wednesday and Thursday in Nanjing.
Lou Qinjian stressed that it is important to thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions on promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, further enhance the sense of responsibility for promoting the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, highlight the problem orientation, adhere to the system advancement, highlight ecological protection and rehabilitation along the Yangtze River, and strive to build the Jiangsu section of the Yangtze River into a model of high-quality development of production and development, wealthy life and excellent ecology.
The CPC Provincial chief stressed that we must adhere to the problem orientation, enhance the sense of responsibility and urgency to promote the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, solve outstanding problems, strengthen the protection of the Yangtze River, implement the new development concept, and improve the environmental quality along the Yangtze River and the ecological environment quality of the entire river basin.
Lou Qinjian urged the province to understand the environmental protection along the Yangtze River in the framework of the national strategic pattern of high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and more consciously protect and develop the Yangtze River in accordance with the requirements of the new development concept, and follow the path of ecological priority and green development more firmly so as to shoulder the historical responsibility and mission of our generation.
Wu Zhenglong pointed out that Jiangsu has an important position and bears great responsibility in the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. All regions and departments must earnestly enhance their political stance, study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and his important instructions on Jiangsu's work, practice new development concepts, adhere to high-quality development, and persist in problem-orientation.
He called on the province to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the industries along the Yangtze River, focus on improving the modern comprehensive transportation system, launch demonstration projects in the Jiangsu section of the Yangtze River, build a long-term mechanism for green development, lead and promote the province’s high-quality development with high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt so as to greet the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China with outstanding performances.
