A delegation of non-partisan CPPCC members went on an inspection tour in Jiangsu from May 22nd to 27th to study the province’s promotion of the implementation of the reform policy of science and technology evaluation system. The delegation was headed by Zheng Jianbang, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
Zheng Jianbang spoke highly of the work done by Jiangsu to promote the reform of the science and technology evaluation system. He said that it is necessary to conscientiously study and implement the important guiding spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping on strengthening scientific and technological innovation and evaluation, and give full play to the role of scientific and technological evaluation in promoting scientific and technological innovation in the whole society, improving the level of scientific and technological management decision-making, optimizing resource allocation, and stimulating accountability.
He urged the province to strengthen institutional integration, adapt measures to local conditions, creatively promote the implementation of policies, form a mechanism conducive to personnel training, talents, and reasonable competition, and create a research team with innovative vitality, development potential and competitive strength.
Huang Lixin, chairwoman of the provincial CPPCC, said that Jiangsu will take the inspection tour by the delegation of non-partisan CPPCC members as an opportunity to follow the decision-making arrangements of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, organize CPPCC members to carry out special investigations on the implementation of the province's science and technology reform policy, give suggestions and broaden the consensus for the promotion of high-quality development and acceleration of the construction of a new Jiangsu by contributing the wisdom of the CPPCC.
The delegation of non-partisan CPPCC members visited Nanjing, Yangzhou and Nantong during its stay in Jiangsu.
