The 2019 Urban Green Development International Forum opened in Xuzhou Tuesday. The forum, themed on urban resilience and new economy, is the first ever high-level international forum co-hosted by the Xuzhou Municipal Government and United Nations Human Settlements Programme.
More than 200 experts and scholars from the United Nations and nearly 20 countries and regions including Germany, Russia and Japan participated in the forum to discuss issues such as urban transformation and innovation development, resource recycling and sustainable development of environmental improvement.
The forums also released ecological technical standards and guidelines for ecological repair.
The forum also saw keynote speeches, seminars, release of standards, cooperation and exchanges. It is expected to play an important role in promoting global ecological governance, urban transformation and development, and the improvement of human settlements.
