With its unique artistic charm, Yangzhou puppetry show was sought after in Portugal by artists from all over the world. The Yangzhou Puppetry Troupe was in Portugal for an exchange tour from June 3rd to 13th upon the invitation by the Portuguese China Watch Association.
The Yangzhou Puppetry Troupe staged 7 performances in 3 cities in Portugal, participated in the "Evora International Puppet Festival" and "Oval International Puppet Festival", and exchanged performances with puppet performers from dozens of countries. In the Portuguese tour, the Yangzhou puppets presented the original charm of the art in Yangzhou.
On June 11th, the Yangzhou Puppetry Troupe performed at the Portuguese National Museum in Lisbon.
In order to promote the inheritance and development of Yangzhou puppetry as an intangible cultural heritage, in recent years, Yangzhou Puppet Troupe has participated in exchange performances in dozens of countries in Southeast Asia, South America and Europe. While promoting the exchange of Chinese and Western cultures, Yangzhou Puppetry Troupe has also actively learned from foreign art forms to achieve innovative development.
