East China’s Jiangsu province has started to prepare for flood control and relief as the rainy season has arrived. The provincial flood control and drought prevention command office held a flood prevention and rescue drill across the province Saturday afternoon.
The decision-making and command process of flood prevention and emergency rescue was demonstrated in the drill alongside with the implementation process of emergency rescue, and the emergency transfer of disaster relief materials and the rescue and resettlement process of the affected people.
A total of more than 500 rescuers from more than 20 rescue teams demonstrated their preparedness for water seepage, piping, loopholes, landslides, flooding, breaching and other typical levee rescue and disposal technology, as well as lifebuoy airdrop by drones, emergency boat transfer, hovercraft rescue, and helicopter-based water search and rescue.
