East China’s Jiangsu province mapped out key tasks on Monday for economic system reform this year, stressing continued reform efforts to boost development and prepare for the tough job of ensuring employment, according to a meeting of the Provincial Leading Group for Comprehensively Deepening Reform Commission.
Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, presided over the 7th meeting of the Provincial Leading Group for Comprehensively Deepening Reform Commission.
The meeting was held to convey the gist of the 8th meeting of the Central Leading Group for Comprehensively Deepening Reform Commission and review the Opinions on Establishing and Improving the Basic Public Service Standard System and other reform plans.
Lou asked the participants to study and implement the important speech made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the 8th meeting of the Central Leading Group for Comprehensively Deepening Reform Commission, gain a good command of the changes in the domestic and international situations, push the in-depth breakthroughs of the reform so as to ensure the province’s leading position in the country.
The CPC Provincial chief laid out the requirements for continued reform efforts in the province to study and implement the important speech made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the 8th meeting of the Central Leading Group for Comprehensively Deepening Reform Commission.
He stressed that the more the external environment is complex and changeable, the more difficult the development task is, the more it is necessary to continue reform, and promote reform to better serve the overall situation of economic and social development.
Lou Qinjian, also head of the Provincial Leading Group for Comprehensively Deepening Reform Commission, demanded that greater efforts should be made to deepen market-oriented reforms, expand high-level openness, resolve the economic structural problems through reforms, enhance comprehensive strength and international competitiveness，continuously optimize the business environment through reforms, and enhance the investment confidence and development momentum of market players so as to effectively solve the pain points in people's livelihood, and let the people have more sense of gain, happiness, and security.
He pointed out that the task of reform is complicated, making it necessary to grasp the key points, find the targets, and promote the reform with a definite object in view.
It is important to adhere to the overall tone of making steady progress while maintaining stability, focus on the key tasks and priorities of the reform, solve the problems, and come up with more tangible and sensible reform achievements, said the CPC chief.
Lou stressed that it is necessary to strengthen responsibility and do a good job in the implementation of the reform, adding that all regions and government departments must always attach importance to the creative implementation of reforms, promote the development of reforms in various fields, and create more reform brands with distinctiveness and influence, speed up the effective evaluation of the major pilot reform projects and give full play to the demonstration role of the pilot projects.
The meeting reviewed the Opinions on Establishing and Perfecting the Basic Public Service Standard System, the Opinions on Deepening and Regulating the Reform of Preschool Education and the plans concerning the project-based evaluation of talents, the improvement of the court mediator system, the fiscal policy for military-civilian integrated development and the reform of the Jiangsu Disabled Persons' Federation.
The establishment and improvement of the basic public service standard system is to continuously meet the growing needs of the people for a better life and promote social fairness and justice, according to a statement released after the meeting.
