Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, met Tuesday afternoon in Nanjing with Craig Allen, president of United States-China Business Council or USCBC.
Wu Zhenglong expressed his warm welcome to Mr. Allen and his delegation for their visit to Jiangsu and his appreciation for the support of the United States-China Business Council for resolving trade differences and issues through negotiations.
Wu recalled the meeting with Mr. Allen in Shanghai last year during the first China International Import Expo.
He said that Sino-US relations are one of the most important bilateral relations in the world today, adding that cooperation and win-win is the only correct choice.
For the past years, quite a number of US-funded enterprises have invested in Jiangsu and achieved fruitful development, he said.
The Governor hoped that the United States-China Business Council will continue to play a good role as a bridge to promote the development of Sino-US economic and trade relations.
Wu Zhenglong pledged Jiangsu will implement the Foreign Investment Law, focus on creating an international, legalized, and convenient business environment, and continue to do a good job in protecting intellectual property rights, so that foreign-funded enterprises, including US-funded enterprises, will be able to share the bonus of promoting high-quality development and creating high-quality life in Jiangsu, and continue to grow and develop in a mutually beneficial cooperation and win-win situation.
Mr. Allen thanked Jiangsu for its long-term concern and support for the development of US-funded enterprises, and spoke highly of Jiangsu's good business environment and quality government services for corporate development.
He said that the United States-China Business Council agrees that the United States and China should resolve trade differences and problems through negotiations and consultations, and will continue to support US-funded enterprises to expand their investment in Jiangsu.
During an interview last February, Mr. Allen said he believes "good progress" has been made in US-China trade talks and an agreement between the two countries is "within reach."
