An off-grid island-based intelligent micro-power grid project was put into operation Tuesday on Kaishan Island, Lianyungang city. In recent years, Jiangsu has continuously promoted the construction of power supply network on Kaishan Island. Averaging daily photovoltaic and wind power generation of about 420 kWh, the intelligent micro-grid can meet the electricity demand on the island. At the same time, the island's desalination equipment produces nearly 10 tons of freshwater per day, which solves all kinds of water demand on the island. Kaishan Island was where Wang Jicai was posted as a sentry guard for 32 years before his death in 2017. The exemplary deeds of Wang Jicai, a CPC member, has been hailed by the CPC Central Committee for his being willing to contribute to the country's prosperity, national rejuvenation, and people’s happiness so as to fulfill the communist people's initial mission.
