The 4th Jiangsu Volunteer Service Exhibition and Exchange Conference opened Saturday in the international exposition center of Yangzhou city.
Wang Yanwen, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Publicity Department and Director of the Provincial Office for Ethical and Cultural Promotion, visited the exhibition hall and attended the first member representative conference of the Jiangsu Provincial Volunteer Service Federation.
The annual Jiangsu Volunteer Service Exhibition and Exchange Conference is co-sponsored by the Publicity Department of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Office for Ethical and Cultural Promotion, the Provincial Civil Affairs Department, and the Provincial Youth League Committee. Known as the carnival of volunteers, it aims to demonstrate effective practices, work modes, brand projects, and promote volunteer service providers and needs on a multilateral level.
Wang Yanwen pointed out that in recent years Jiangsu has solidly promoted volunteer service and achieved great development in volunteer service. As a leading volunteer service organization, the establishment of the Federation marks a solid step in the institutionalized development of the province's voluntary service, social mobilization and organizational promotion.
She called for greater efforts to give full play to the positive role of the federation, promote the regular development of volunteer service activities, the development of volunteer service organizations, and the continuous innovation of volunteer service so as to ensure that the culture of volunteer service take root.
The Central Office for Ethic and Cultural Promotion supervised the event.
Officials from the pilot provinces of the national campaign for the new era civilization practice center were invited to attend the conference.
650 influential volunteer service projects were showcased at the conference.
