Nanjing University of Science and Technology(NJUST) held a celebration on Monday for Professor Harald Fuchs, who has recently won the 2019 Chinese Government Friendship Award.
10月14日下午，南京理工大学召开“哈罗德•富克斯教授学术成就暨治学经验分享会”，庆祝该校格莱特纳米科技研究所所长哈罗德•富克斯教授获得2019年中国政府友谊奖。

More than 200 staff and students from the School of Material Science and Engineering participated the celebration. Top leaders of Nanjing University of Science and Technology made speeches to thank Professor Harald Fuchs for its long-term contribution to the subject of Nano sciences and the development of the university.
中国政府友谊奖，是中国政府为表彰在中国现代化建设和改革开放事业中作出突出贡献的外国专家而设立的最高奖项，由国务院授权国家外国专家局于1991年正式设立。"友谊奖"每年约产生50名获奖者，国庆“逢五逢十”则评选约百名。
Harald Fuchs, Director of the Herbert Gleiter Institue of Nanoscience of NJUST, said that winning the award is a once-in-a-life experience. “You do not expect it because this is what we do,” he said, “And again, I would say that this is based also on the success of our people here. I’m very happy to receive this award.”

富克斯教授1951年出生在德国，目前担任南京理工大学格莱特纳米科技研究所所长，是德国科学院、工程院两院院士，于1982年毕业于萨尔大学，师从纳米材料创始人格莱特教授。
2012年富克斯教授与格莱特院士、哈恩院士等3名德国科学院院士，以及中科院卢柯院士一同组建了格莱特纳米科技研究所，研究所作为学校第一个人才特区、科研特区、学术特区，完全按照国际学术体制运行，目标是打造世界顶级的纳米科技研究基地，培养职业科学家。
Harald Fuchs is the academician of German National Academy of Science and Engineering. He joined Nanjing University of Science and Technology in 2012 and is the director of the Herbert Gleiter Institute of Nanoscience of NJUST.
In the past 20 years, Harald Fuchs has established a profound friendship with China and he made outstanding contributions to the development of nanotechnology in Jiangsu. In 2017, Fuchs was awarded the Jiangsu Friendship Award. In 2018, he was awarded the honorary resident of Jiangsu Province; And he has won the Chinese Government Friendship Award before the National Day Holiday this year, which is the highest recognition of foreign experts given by Chinese government.
