The Sixth Statistical Inspectorate of the National Bureau of Statistics, under the authorization of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, was in Jiangsu to conduct statistical inspection. A meeting was held in Nanjing on Monday between the Statistical Inspectorate and the provincial party committee and the provincial government. Provincial Party Secretary Lou Qinjian and Governor Wu Zhenglong spoke at the meeting.
Sheng Laiyun, head of the Sixth Statistical Inspectorate of the National Bureau of Statistics, pointed out that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has attached great importance to statistical work. General Secretary Xi Jinping has made a series of important instructions, which has pointed out the direction and provided follow-up for the statistical reform and development of the new era.
Carrying out statistical inspections is a serious implementation of the spirit of the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the implementation of the Party Central Committee and the State Council's major measures for the decision-making of statistical work, he said.
We will adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, uphold and strengthen the party's overall leadership, and persist in striving for stability from the political height of safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core in accordance with the requirements of promoting high-quality development so as to do a good job in the statistical inspection work in Jiangsu, he added.
Lou Qinjian said that the implementation of statistical inspections is a major decision-making arrangement of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, adding that the inclusion of Jiangsu in the first batch of provincial statistical inspection campaign fully reflects the importance attached to Jiangsu by the central government.
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Jiangsu has thoroughly studied and implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important exposition on statistical work, persisted in and strengthened the party’s leadership over statistical work, deepened statistical reform, improved the statistical work system, strengthened statistical supervision and enforcement, and built a statistical integrity system so as to effectively improve the quality of statistics and provide a solid statistical guarantee for high-quality development.
He pledged that the province will do its utmost to improve the statistical work from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core so as to ensure that the statistical work will give better support to the province’s social and economic development.
Wu Zhenglong said that we will adhere to the spirit of Xi Jinping's new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, resolutely implement the important guiding spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech and the decision-making arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and use statistical inspection as an opportunity to push the statistical work to a new level.
