The 2019 council meeting and plenary session of the Nanjing Public Diplomacy Association was held on December 18th. The 2019 Wutong Award of the Nanjing Public Diplomacy Wutong were presented to 12 foreign friends and organizations in Nanjing at the meeting.
12 foreign friends and organizations from the US, Germany, Canada, France, Australia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Czech and other countries won the title of “Youth Friendship Ambassador”,“Best Cultural Ambassador”,”Best Public Welfare Ambassador”, “Best Business Elite”and “Best Friendly Exchange”respectively.
FCTA,an international stundent volunteer organization, and Raikhan Alkhanova, a student from Nanjing University of Technology, both won the “Youth Friendship Ambassador”Award.

Nikolas Michael Krause, winner of the Best Cultural Ambassador Award, and his co-worker translated the modern Chinese opera “The Diaries of John Rabe“ to German, bringing the legendary story of the “Chinese Schindler” that took place in Nanjing during World War II to the German-speaking world.

The preparation and evaluation of the Wutong Award of the Nanjing Public Diplomacy Association took over two months. 17 people were shortlisted from billions of applicants, and an online voting for these finalists was carried out. According to statistics, a total of 254,019 votes were cast on the official WeChat account of the Nanjing Public Diplomacy Association, and the number of visitors reached a historic high of 5.397 million.
