Ma Qiulin, vice governor of Jiangsu, met Wednesday in Nanjing with Benoît Guidée, Consul General of France in Shanghai.
Ma Qiulin welcomed Benoît Guidée's visit to Jiangsu. He said that in recent years, Jiangsu and France have carried out fruitful cooperation in various fields.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China and the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, the vice governor said.
He hoped that both sides would take this opportunity to further expand the new space for cooperation between Jiangsu and France and share new opportunities for Jiangsu's development.
Ma Qiulin also expressed the hope that both sides would strengthen all-round cooperation in trade and investment, scientific and technological innovation, ecological environment, cultural tourism and other fields so as to promote more economic, trade and cultural cooperation projects, and the exchange and cooperation between Jiangsu and France to a new level.
Benoît Guidée said that France attaches great importance to friendly relations with Jiangsu, and is willing to further strengthen pragmatic cooperation with Jiangsu, promote cooperation and exchanges between the two sides in environmental protection, technological innovation and other fields, and push bilateral cooperation to a new height.
