The medical team Jiangsu sent to aid central China’s Hubei province in the fight against COVID-19 has accomplished its mission at Jinyintan Hospital in Wuhan city, the epicenter of the virus outbreak as the hospital has cleared of COVID-19 patients with serious or life-threatening conditions. A see-off ceremony was held Sunday for the doctors and nurses from Jiangsu.
Zhang Dingyu, president of Jinyintan Hospital, issued a certificate of honorary staff to the doctors and nurses from Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital in a sign of remembering the days of fighting against the epidemic shoulder by shoulder.

208 doctors and nurses from Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital rushed to aid Wuhan’s fight against COVID-19 and on March 23took over two ICU wards at Jinyintan Hospital where they were responsible for the treatment of 80% of the patients with life-threatening conditions. They also performed an esophageal stenting operation for a COVID-19 patient, which was the first of its kind in Wuhan.
With the intensive care by the doctors and nurses from Jiangsu, nearly 20 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged from the hospital.
The remaining 14 patients in Jinyintan Hospital turned negative in the nucleic acid detection of COVID-19 virus, indicating that the hospital has cleared of COVID-19 patients with serious or life-threatening conditions.
All but ten doctors from Jiangsu have returned home.
Jiangsu sent 2804 doctors and nurses to Hubei to help contain the epidemic, which is the country’s largest medical contingent sent to Hubei.
