The Suzhou Laboratory of Materials Science was listed as the Jiangsu Provincial Laboratory by the Jiangsu Provincial Government when it was inaugurated on Tuesday.
Zhang Yaping, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, gave a video speech, Lan Shaomin, secretary of the Suzhou Municipal Committee and Vice Governor Ma Qiulin attended the inauguration ceremony.
The Suzhou Laboratory of Materials Science, headquartered in the Suzhou Industrial Park, is a 20-billion-yuan investment project. It will focus on major national strategic needs in the field of materials science, major economic development needs in Jiangsu, and cutting-edge technologies for future scientific and technological revolutions, aiming at the goal of building a national laboratory and creating a source of technological innovation at a high level.
