East China’s Jiangsu province will strengthen the protection on intellectual property rights in a bid to improve business environment, according to 23 measures in six categories released recently by the general office of the provincial party committee and the general office of the provincial government.

In early August Jiangsu released 23 measures in six categories concerning the implementation of the regulation on IPR protection.

Jiangsu will build a multi-departmental alliance to promote a fast and collaborative intellectual property protection system with complementary functions to ensure that large and medium-sized enterprises, state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, Chinese and foreign enterprises, and various market entities have equal status in intellectual property protection.

In recent years, Jiangsu has ranked foremost in the country in terms of the comprehensive intellectual property strength and main development indicators. The province also registers the largest number of national intellectual property demonstration enterprises with a total of 646.

In 2016, Jiangsu was listed in the national pilot program for IPR protection.

In 2019, more than 10,000 patent and trademark violations were investigated and handled.

Since the start of this year, the provincial authorities have strengthened the supervision on provisions for the fight against the epidemic by cracking down on 1114 trademark violation cases.
