The province’s consumer price index, the main gauge of inflation, was up 0.5% in October, the provincial survey team of the national bureau of statistics said on Monday.
The price of food, tobacco and alcohol, which carries the largest weight, rose by 2.1%, while the price of non-food, tobacco and alcohol fell by 0.3%.
The price of pork fell by 1.3%, while prices of fresh melons, fruits and eggs reported year-on-year decline of 9.8% and 9%.
The expenditure on transportation and communications fell 3.3% month on month.
China's consumer price index rose by 0.2 percent year-on-year in December, compared with a 0.5 percent decline in November, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Monday.
The CPI rose by 2.5 percent in 2020 from the previous year, the NBS said, within the government target of about 3.5 percent.
