East China’s Jiangsu province has spared no efforts to accelerate breakthroughs in key core technologies for new growth momentum.
At the beginning of the new year, the "high saturation photoresist" used in microelectronics has entered a stage of accelerated industrialization in Xushe Town, Yixing County.
Its technical indicators have measured up with international advanced level after the trial by BOE and other seven domestic panel display screen producers.
China contributes half of the global production of panel display screens but the country spends 6 billion yuan on importing "high saturation photoresist", the raw material for manufacturing pixels.
Jiangsu Boyan Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. established a world-class scientific research team during the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period to overcome the bottleneck of this industry chain, enabling the localization rate of photoresist increased from 1% in 2019 to 9% at present.

During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, Jiangsu has carried out 126 key core technology researches in common technology fields such as high-end equipment and high-temperature alloys by coming up with 622 original technologies, giving a further impetus to the development of related industrial chains in its own hands.
Innovation has broken through the bottleneck of emerging industries, and it has also helped with the continuous upgrading of the pharmaceutical, machinery, and textile industries represented by such companies as Hengrui, Kangyuan, and Yangzijiang.Jiangsu-based companies contribute about half of China's new drugs each year.
Jiangsu-based enterprises have continued to enhance their technological innovation capabilities by creating 127 national enterprise technology centers, 48 national technological innovation demonstration enterprises, and two national manufacturing innovation centers.
Last year, more than 40 thousand high-tech enterprises in Jiangsu created 38% of the province’s output value and 49.6% of profits, becoming a new growth point for high-quality development.

In the new year, Jiangsu will strengthen the layout of enterprise innovation carriers, focus on the areas and directions of national demand and significant influence, accelerate the promotion of innovation centers such as superalloys, high-end engineering machinery, and biomedicine, and strive toadd 200 technical centers of enterprises above the provincial level.
At the same time, Jiangsu will speed up research on key core technologies, deploy and implement about 60 projects, take the lead in breaking through bottleneck technologies in key areas such as integrated circuits, high-end special equipment, artificial intelligence, and new materials, and promote collaborative innovation, optimization and upgrading of the upper, middle and lower reaches of the industrial chain, large and small enterprises.
