East China’s Jiangsu province has sped up the COVID-19 inoculation campaign by taking multi-pronged measures with a view to ensuring the smooth progress of the prevention and control of the epidemic.
The COVID-19 inoculation venue at Nanjing International Expo Center is the first and largest of its kind in Jiangsu.
Local residents have been able to get the vaccination here since March 23 by showing their health code app and having their temperatures taken.
The inoculation venue has expanded its areas from 1500 square meters to 3000 square meters by increasing 12 sites so as to ensure a daily cap of 1800 shots from 8 in the morning to 6:30 in the afternoon with a noon break from 11:30 to 2 o'clock.

"People should wear masks and bring their personal ID card. They are advised to stay for half an hour for clinical observation," said Jia Yiwei, Head of the COVID-19 Inoculation Venue at Nanjing International Expo Center.
The COVID-19 inoculation is also in full swing in Changzhou city and elsewhere in the province.
Changzhou's first tour vaccination vehicle for COVID-19 inoculation is equipped with a medical refrigerator and disinfection equipment. A medical security vehicle on standby is complete with emergency facilities.
The tour vaccination vehicle for COVID-19 inoculation can ensure information tracking and remote monitoring by the supervisory departments so as to ensure the safety of the vaccination process.
Local residents can get the shot in less than half an hour after getting through the formalities such as registration and temperature check.
Local authorities in Taizhou, Yancheng, Suqian and Huai’an have distributed publicity handouts and inoculation sites in Zhenjiang have prolonged the work shifts to ensure that those working during the day can get vaccinated in the evening hours.
More than 100 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered by March 27, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Health on Sunday. The country will gradually increase the scale of its mass COVID-19 vaccinations in a safe, orderly manner, the ministry said.
The cost of COVID-19 vaccination, including both vaccines' expenses and inoculation fees, will be covered by medical insurance fund and government fiscal, rather than individuals, the Chinese government said early in January.
The free vaccination will be carried out based on the risks of infection of different groups, and participation will be voluntary.
Officials noted that the country’s annual production can fully meet the inoculation needs of the entire country.
