East China’s Jiangsu province signed nearly 40-billion-yuan worth of contracts with northwest China’s Shaanxi province at the first Jiangsu-Shaanxi Entrepreneur Innovation and Development Conference held last Sunday in Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi province.
The cooperation projects cover new materials, ecological and environmental protection, medical and health care, cultural tourism, and industry-university-research cooperation, highlighting the broader prospects of cooperation between Jiangsu and Shaanxi.
During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, Jiangsu and Shaanxi continued to deepen industrial cooperation by investing 7.413 billion yuan to start the Jiangsu-Shaanxi poverty alleviation cooperation fund, implementing 5104 poverty alleviation projects, and lifting more than 1.16 million people out of poverty.
Shaanxi introduced more than 400 cooperative enterprises from Jiangsu, with an investment of 14.1 billion yuan。
56 counties in Shaanxi Province placed under the pairing-up support with Jiangsu have got rid of poverty.
Over the past five years, more than 70% of the Jiangsu-Shaanxi poverty alleviation funds have stimulated the investment of more than 48 billion yuan from all sectors of life, which has promoted the continuous development and growth of poverty alleviation industries such as tea, edible fungi, Chinese medicinal materials, and selenium-rich agricultural products.
Shaanxi has set up 63 poverty alleviation product sales centers in Jiangsu to record sales of 377 million yuan, achieving mutual benefit, win-win and common development.
Entrepreneurs from Jiangsu and Shaanxi have actively participated in trans-provincial cooperation between Jiangsu and Shaanxi by introducing a number of enterprises, building a number of parks, cultivating a number of industries, and advancing a number of projects, which has strengthened the development momentum of pairing-up support and promoted cooperation and exchanges to a new height.
