A press conference on celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China was held in Nanjing on Thursday morning.
[voice over] Officials from the provincial and Nanjing municipal government introduced the major achievements of Jiangsu's economic and social development in recent years.
Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Jiangsu has always shouldered the mission of exploring the path for the development of the country, and making decisive achievements in building a well-off society at a high level in an all-round way.
In 2020, the province’s regional GDP increased to 10.27 trillion yuan from 5.41 trillion yuan in 2012, with an average annual growth rate of 7.5%, ranking second in the country.
The per capita GDP reached 125 thousand yuan, ranking first among all provinces.
With the public budget revenue exceeding 900 billion yuan, the per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents increased by 23.4 thousand yuan and 12 thousand yuan respectively over 2012, creating a golden period of the fastest improvement in comprehensive strength, the greatest transformation and upgrading, and the strongest sense of the people.
