East China’s Jiangsu province has allocated a hefty sum of expenditures on the development of the sports industry in a bid to make the province a sports powerhouse. Since the beginning of this year, the provincial finance has allocated 626 million yuan, accounting for 95% of the budget allocated at the beginning of the year, to speed up support for the development of sports. The special funds are earmarked to support the opening of 118 large-scale sports venues in the province with preferential fees and the issuance of sports consumption coupons.
