Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu, called for further efforts to study General Secretary Xi Jinping’s recent important speeches and instructions so as to promote the campaign on party history learning and education. He made the remarks when chairing a provincial government party leadership meeting Friday in Nanjing.
Members of the provincial government party leadership emphasized the importance of strengthening the study and education of party’s history, drawing wisdom and strength from the party's century-old history, and promoting all aspects of work from the political height of strengthening the four consciousnesses and the four self-confidences, safeguarding the authority of the CPC Central Committee and getting united around the centralized and unified leadership the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, according to a statement released after the meeting.
Advocating loyalty to the party, we must always strengthen our ideals and beliefs, continue to strengthen theoretical study, promoting the understanding of the party’s innovative theories, and persevere in guiding practice and promoting work with the Xi Jinping Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the statement said.
We must practice the people-centered development thinking, keep in mind the nature and purpose of the party, take concrete measures to promote the people's livelihood, and continuously enhance the people's sense of gain, happiness, and security, said the statement.
Efforts should be made to improve China's capacity for engaging in international communication by giving a full play to Jiangsu’s advantages so as to make greater contribution to the enhancement of China’s soft power, according to the statement.
Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, has stressed improving the country's capacity for engaging in international communication to present a true, multi-dimensional and panoramic view of China. Xi made the remarks on May 31 when addressing a group study session of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. Xi stressed the need to have a profound understanding of how important and necessary it is to improve the country's international communication, and to develop a voice in international discourse that matches with China's comprehensive national strength and international status.
Xi said it is important to enhance top-level design, establish a strategic communication system with distinctive Chinese characteristics and improve the influence of international communication, the attraction of Chinese culture, affinity with China's image, the persuasiveness of Chinese discourse and the ability to guide international public opinion.
