The 11th Jiangsu Book Fair concluded Sunday in Suzhou city. On the last day of the book fair, an endless stream of people was seen coming back and forth in the main exhibition hall, immersed in the joy of reading paper-based books.
Tens of thousands of books were exhibited during the five-day book fair and a series of reading activities were held regardless of high temperatures and thunderstorms.
The book fair was held concurrently at 132 physical sub-venues and two online sub-venues distributed throughout the province.
Books on the centenary of the Communist Party of China turned out to be the greatest hit at this year’s book fair.
Nanjing, Xuzhou, Changzhou, and Taizhou exhibited a large number of red classic books and manuscripts, letters, work diaries and other documents preserved by the revolutionary predecessors, allowing readers to relive the prosperous years and feel the power of forging ahead.
Over the past eleven years, the Jiangsu Book Fair has developed into a cultural event that integrates publication display, book trading, cultural activities, and information service exchanges. This year, more than 90 million readers participated directly in the Jiangsu Book Fair online and offline.
