Yangzhou downgraded to COVID-19 low-risk area

The last sub-district in the city of Yangzhou has been classified as low-risk area of COVID-19 starting from Sunday, according to the provincial headquarters for epidemic prevention and control.

Authorities in Yangzhou issued notices Thursday morning that local people can travel in the city without any restrictions by showing their health code and take their temperatures. No nucleic acid test report will be required for the travel within the city.

The indoor part of the mass transit system will resume operation while shopping malls, supermarkets, farmers' markets, hotels, hairdressers will resume businesses.

"It's great that we have resumed services. I went through the formalities and disinfected the taxi in the morning," said a taxi driver.

"We will work hard and are ready for working extra hours to strive for the completion of the project as scheduled," said a sluice gate worker.

The Omnijoi Cinema in Litchi Plaza of Nanjing resumed the screening of the first movie at 10:30 Thursday morning. The movie-goers were required to show their health code and take their temperatures before gaining entry.

Cultural venues, Internet cafes, entertainment venues, performance venues and indoor parts of the scenic spot will resume opening after going through the formalities with local authorities, according to a notice issued by the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism on Wednesday.

"We disinfect the important parts of the entire museum twice a day. Before the reopening we repaired and maintained some facilities and equipment. Visitors are required to make real-name appointment for entrance," said Dai Changdong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch of Nanjing Six Dynasties Museum.
