Culture and sports venues in Nanjing have resumed opening as the city is stepping up post-epidemic recovery after beating the virus in a two-month period.

Cultural venues, Internet cafes, entertainment venues, performance venues and indoor parts of the scenic spot will resume opening after going through the formalities with local authorities, according to a notice issued by the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism on Wednesday.

Nanjing Wutaishan Natatorium has conducted a comprehensive disinfection of the inside and outside of the venue every day, even when it is closed due to the epidemic.

On Thursday, the workers made comprehensive inspection of all the facilities and epidemic prevention measures to ensure that the venue is ready for re-opening.

"We have set a safe distance of one meter in the waiting area and the locker compartments are alternately used with disinfection assures for each use. A lifeguard, service staff in the locker room and service staff in the front hall will be arranged on site. We will ensure the flow of visitors does not exceed 50% of the maximum carrying capacity with no more than 250 swimmers in the swimming pool simultaneously," said Lu Linhao, Director of Natatorium Office of Jiangsu Wutaishan Sports Center.

The badminton court, table tennis court and bowling hall of Jiangsu Wutaishan Sports Center are also ready to reopen. Various venues have also upgraded their facilities and environment.

"We have carried out in-depth professional cleaning of the venue, repaired and updated the net and floor rubber line, hoping to bring new and old players a warmer and safer fitness environment," said Zhou Xiaojuan, Curator of the Badminton Hall of Jiangsu Wutaishan Sports Center.

Nanjing Museum, Nanjing Municipal Museum, Taiping Heavenly Kingdom History Museum, Jiangning Weaving Museum, and Six Dynasties Museum completed all-round drills before reopening.

"We disinfect the important parts of the entire museum twice a day. Before the reopening, we repaired and maintained some facilities and equipment. Visitors are required to make real-name appointment for entrance," said Dai Changdong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch of Nanjing Six Dynasties Museum.
