East China’s Jiangsu province has brought into full play the leading and supporting role of southern Jiangsu regions to promote the simultaneous development of central and northern Jiangsu regions, and building a new pattern of urban and rural development featuring complementary advantages and coordinated integration.
Jiangsu Haofeng Electric Co., Ltd. put into production the first washing machine production line in August. Located in the Susu Industrial Park in Suqian, this 5 billion-yuan project will provide more than 5,000 jobs and pay about 250 million yuan in taxes.

Li Chaoyang, Deputy Mayor of Suqian City Government, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Susu Industrial Park Administration, said that Susu Industrial Park has stimulated the industrialization process of Suqian.
In 2020 alone, Susu Industrial Park, which accounts for 0.16% of Suqian’s area, created 6.6% of the city’s general public budget revenue, 13.4% of the planned industrial added value, and 23.3% of corporate income tax, making it a very important growth engine of Suqian’s economic development.
More than 10 years ago, the Susu Industrial Park opened a precedent for the joint construction of an industrial park between the northern regions and southern regions of Jiangsu by connecting the advanced concepts, industrial foundation, and talent team of the industrial parks in southern Jiangsu with the abundant resources, low-cost labor and preferential policies in northern Jiangsu to inject development momentum into the economic low-lying land.

In recent years, Jiangsu has invested more high-quality resources and elements to support the development of northern Jiangsu.
The province has invested billions in the improvement of rural housing in northern Jiangsu, enabling farmers in northern Jiangsu to increase their gain of happiness in the integrated development of urban and rural areas. The operation of four high-speed railways in north Jiangsu have linked up the north and south, paving the way for further integrated development.

Integrating regional development into the national strategic layout, Jiangsu has seized the advantages of the national strategies, optimized the layout of the coastal space along the river and the lake, and realized the industrial transformation and green development along the Yangtze River, the Grand Canal, the Taihu Lake and the coastal areas.
For more than ten years, Jiangsu has maintained a good momentum in the joint construction of economic parks in the north and south of development with the main economic indicators posting an annual growth rate of about 15%.
