East China’s Jiangsu province has reported steady progress in the promotion of Belt and Road capacity by bearing in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions, given full play to its advantages of opening up, and actively participated in and integrated into the "Belt and Road" Initiative.
The China-Europe Railway Express trains traveling eastbound along the New Eurasian Continental Bridge have arrived at the China-Kazakhstan logistics base in Lianyungang, loaded with 1,300 tons of Central Asian potash that will be shipped to Japan by sea.
Thanks to the first domestic remote control system for dual-line railway operations, the China-Kazakhstan logistics base has increased the container loading and unloading efficiency by more than 30% and reduced energy consumption by 20%.

By the end of 2020, the Belt and Road countries have invested in 2010 projects in Jiangsu, with a contracted investment of US$20.9 billion.
In the first 10 months of this year, Jiangsu reported 1.06 trillion yuan of imports and exports to the "Belt and Road" countries, an increase of 21.7%, accounting for 25.2% of the province’s total foreign trade, an increase of 1 percentage point over the same period last year.
