East China’s Jiangsu province has wrapped up the reconstruction of the Kunshan section of the Beijing-Shanghai Railway.
Starting at 10:25 on Wednesday evening, within more than 4 hours of railway lockdown, the Shanghai direction of the Kunshan-Lujiabang section of the Beijing-Shanghai Railway Reconstruction Project completed the precise connection between the new and old rail tracks. The completion of the construction of this section of the line increased the traffic speed from the original 160 kilometers to 200 kilometers per hour. At the same time, the project has opened up the blockade of the railway bridge, enabling thousand-ton ships to sail without obstacles in the high-level shipping lane of the Yangtze River Delta.
