An employee from a local company was identified as an asymptomatic COVID-19 virus carrier Thursday morning in Suzhou city of East China's Jiangsu province, according to the Suzhou Municipal Health Commission.
The patient, believed to be linked to the receiving and dispatching of warehouse imported materials, tested positive during regular nucleic acid testing on Wednesday, which was later confirmed by the local CDC on Thursday.
The patient is currently under medical observation in isolation at Suzhou Fifth People's Hospital.
The local CDC has traced and conducted closed management toward 51 close contacts relating to the case, with their nucleic acid test results all reported as negative as of 3 pm Thursday. Isolation measures have been taken towards 7578 sub-close contacts and other related persons. 641 environmental samples were collected and tested negative.
