East China’s Jiangsu Province reported stable industrial production in January and February as regional governments spared no efforts to coordinate the supply of production factors, and ensured a good start of the key enterprises and major industrial sectors.

The 802 sample enterprises under key monitoring, which account for about 30% of the province's total industrial size, achieved a total operating income of 310 billion yuan in January, a year-on-year increase of 8.5%.

The operating income of the metallurgical and petrochemical industries increased by 16% and 13% respectively, higher than the provincial average.

Large-scale petrochemical and iron and steel enterprises, including Sierbang, Shagang, Nangang, and Jinling Petrochemical, are reporting sound operation, thanks to the active research and development of new products and expansion of advanced production capacity in response to market demand, as well as the good benefits brought by the high prices of gasoline, styrene, rebar, electrolytic copper and other products. The electronics industry also maintained a high growth rate of 9% year on year. The orders of SK Hynix, Changdian Technology, and Tongfu Microelectronics have been fully booked in the first quarter. Trina Solar and Yangzhou JA Solar are at full production.

The industries of machinery, light industry, building materials, textiles, and pharmaceuticals reported stable development on the whole. Automobile, shipbuilding, general machinery, and electrical companies showed relatively optimistic prospects this year. The auto parts industry reported rapid growth in the mid-to-high-end market.

In response to the tightening supply of raw materials, chips, logistics, and electricity since last year, regional governments in Jiangsu have actively coordinated to ensure the supply of production factors.

Under the coordination of various parties, the cargo ship carrying the first phase of more than 13,000 tons of ferronickel produced by Indonesian enterprises arrived at the Jiangsu port, which met the raw material needs of Jiangsu power battery manufacturers and helped Jiangsu continue to build the world's largest power battery production base.
