East China’s Jiangsu province has stepped up the construction of major investment projects and ensured their smooth progress through every possible effort so as to fulfill the goals for social and economic development set forth in this year’s government work report. JSBC has the story.
The construction of the main structure of the Tongpi Sub-district Comprehensive Service Center has been completed, and the construction of the interior structure is underway to ensure that the center will be put into use in August.
The 2,500-square-meter comprehensive service center will provide more convenient and perfect basic community services for 50 thousand residents in the surrounding areas.
Jurong City is stepping up the construction of a comprehensive transportation hub for high-speed railway linking Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Nanjing and Ma’anshan.
Designed as an elevated station, the 15,000-squar-meter Jurong Station will have 4 platforms and 10 rail lines. It is also equipped with a rapid transportation system, allowing seamless transfer between various means of transportation such as bus, taxi, and subway.
In the future, when the comprehensive transportation hub is put into use, Jurong will strengthen the transportation connection with Nanjing by building a one-hour travel circle.
In September last year, the Bihu Bridge connecting Shanhe Island in Yangzhou was knocked down by an out-of-control boat. The local government built a makeshift steel bridge for emergency use within a month. The Bihu River Bridge will be reconstructed with the approval from the authorities.
Local authorities will speed up the construction of the bridge so as to facilitate the travel of the villagers and promote the development of rural tourism.
