East China’s Jiangsu province has made every effort to strengthen the prevention and control of the covid-19 epidemic, and at the same time accelerated investment and construction of major agricultural and rural projects so as to gear resources towards agriculture and rural areas.
Jiangsu plans to start construction of 1,266 projects this year, with an annual planned investment of 120 billion yuan.
In the first quarter, 639 projects have been started, accounting for 50.5% of the projects scheduled for the whole year.
Different from previous years, Jiangsu will continue to increase the number of major agricultural and rural projects this year, and optimize the project structure to highlight the driving force and leadership of the projects.
Statistics show that agricultural processing projects accounted for the largest number of major agricultural and rural projects under construction in the province in the first quarter, with a year-on-year increase of 46.
According to the plan, the new project is expected to be put into production normally in July. One-third of the fungus sticks produced will be exported abroad, and two-thirds will be used for independent production and to help farmers start up their businesses.

Zhiqian Town, Jintan District of Changzhou is stepping up the construction of the tail water purification tank and laying the slope protection film of the second phase of the intelligent fishery project.
Compared with the first phase of the project, the fishing equipment used in the new project has a higher level of automation, which will greatly improve the feeding efficiency.
Jiangsu will aim at the future development trend of agriculture and rural areas and carry out the annual activities of improving the quality and efficiency of major agricultural and rural projects by focusing on the implementation of a number of intensive processing of agricultural products, new formats and models of agricultural and rural areas, and agricultural science and technology carrier platforms, further optimizing the project structure and speeding up the construction progress.
The province will strive to start construction of 70% of major agricultural and rural projects in the second quarter so as to continuously enhance the development potential and momentum of agricultural and rural areas.
