East China’s Jiangsu province is calling for strengthened efforts to rein in the recent spell of coronavirus outbreak in some parts of the province since early March, according to a provincial virtual meeting on the joint prevention and control of the epidemic. Wu Zhenglong, secretary of the provincial party committee, gave written instructions. Governor Xu Kunlin presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.
In his written instructions, Wu Zhenglong requested that efforts should be made to strengthen epidemic prevention and control, ensure smooth logistics, follow the decisions of the Party Central Committee, coordinate epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, implement more scientific and precise prevention and control of the epidemic, strive to achieve the greatest prevention and control effect at the least cost, and minimize the impact of the epidemic on economic and social development.
The CPC provincial chief said efforts must be made to ensure the smooth flow of logistics at an important position in the overall work, effectively coordinate epidemic prevention and control and ensure smooth flow, establish and improve the working mechanism for ensuring smooth flow of logistics, strive to win the victory of epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development and welcome the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with practical actions.
Xu Kunlin asked all local governments to follow the decisions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, set up corresponding working mechanisms, implement various work requirements, and make every effort to ensure the smooth flow of logistics and promote the stability of the industrial chain and supply chain.
Xu Kunlin inspected the Huanglishu service area and Tangshan toll station of the Nanjing-Shanghai Expressway, stressing the need to comprehensively optimize various prevention and control measures, resolutely put an end to layer-by-layer restrictions and repeated inspections, make every effort to open up transport channels and eliminate all kinds of potential safety hazards, resolutely avoid problems such as large-scale congestion and the long wait during the queue.
